Well, she's already doing wheelies so yeah, I'd say she's ready (and cute as a button too)!

I don't know how she feels about seat belts, but her mother would probably try to figure out a way to make that work.

Thanks everyone, yeah, I think little Stella here is a keeper. I keep threatening to get a sidecar, so the wife will let her come with me.

Pretty cool, Brent. Hey, just yesterday I was talking with a fellow rider I met on the Kootenay Lake ferry about how he's seen people wearing harnesses that allow for their kids to ride on the back. Yeah, you wear the harness and the kids hangs on, and is even strapped to you so they can't fall off. Apparently it's a thing... not stating an opinion one way or another, just saying. Here's something called the Backrider Belt as seen here on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorcycle-Child...ise&vxp=mtr

I have had my kids riding with me since they could sit on the gas tank (Texas style) and go around the neighborhood, then on the pillion with the back rest, with pratice on how to react to teh bike on hard stops and corners in a big parking lot to get them used to how it feels. I didnt take them on main roads and highways till feet could touch the pegs.

I don't agree with these at all. In theory they are nice and I would love to take my considerably young daughter with me on a ride, but shouldn't every rider have a reasonable chance to get away from the bike should the worst happen. Picturing a crash with this thing is scary to me.

i am with you beemer, i have had all my children and grandchildren riding with me when they were in diapers. like you said just around the block kinda stuff but they tend to love it. i have had them sitting in front of me on the old flat seat standard and between me and a passenger on the cruisers someone like their mother or older sibling but when they are old enough to reach the foot pegs, its their time to ride with me alone. when they have reached 7 or so i will then take them for a longer ride than ever and they love it, me and the bike!!!! i have one daughter and two grandaughters that cant get enough hahahahaha you just have to be extra cautious and start out slow and as time go's by and they get to the age they can go by themselves, they are ready and they are good riders. aaannndd they tend to be fearless when it comes to rollercoasters and such rides
ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

I was lucky growing up. My mother let me ride on a motorcycle, a roller coaster, waterski and ride all the carnival rides. She made sure we did all the scary and exciting things. Too many kids are over protected and afraid of everything. My brothers and I grew up practically fearless. I like the term I recently heard, Free Range Kids.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

I remember riding on my Dad's Honda Dream, sitting between my Dad and the tank with my mom on the back heading down the avenue to Grandma's house. Now that I'm the Dad...We sit in the garage and pretend to ride making motorcycle noises and I let her honk the horn to irritate the wife. I will take her when her legs are long enough to reach the pegs. I would take her out on a trail bike if I could. I learned to ride early on because I lived in a small town where you could leave your driveway and in moments be in a big field or in the woods. The disadvantage of living in the city I guess. She does love roller coasters and going as fast as we can our bike down hills. All I hear is faster Daddy faster...You'd think I'd lose some weight.
