Greetings...I've just turned 30K miles on my america and was wanting to know what kind of mileage you guys are getting out of your clutches. I'm running a 18/42 set-up, and ride 2 up about 30% of the time. No noticable slipping yet. Thanks!

When if you feel it slip get the green springs. If that doesn't fix it you need a clutch.
I can only recall a couple of cloth threads over the years (since 07) and those were all on built motor bikes.

Here you go... Fasteddysports.com $9 for the green, $15 for the gold.
If you've never worked on the bike get a Haynes manual too. I swapped my springs while I was building the motor and it was easy. Basically a bolt on/in but you do need to make sure a bearing is aligned and probably need to remove your foot controls to get the side cover off. There will be oil in there so do it when your doing an oil change and the oil is drained.
May as well get the gasket ordered for the side cover as well.
Oh.... and keep your eye on that wavy washer.

...sounds like I have a winner, green springs! Going to check my valve clearence soon, so I'll do the springs while everything else is apart. You've been a great help!
