I'd hire an untrained employee over a fully trained one, who had had honesty issues. The first can be trained. The second, well....
Last week I called a person who works for our organization four times. She was 'teleworking' Each time, I was told 'she is at the store'. I left my name and phone number each time. Never heard back. I called her at her office on Monday, she picked right up and gave me some lame excuse about how busy she was last week. I was only looking for a job reference for an applicant for one of our jobs. I'm not gonna give her responses much credence.
