Agreed. Couldn't have said it better. I'm of the same generation as you Andrew and it sickens me to see how some of the people around my age act. They expect money and success to fall into their lap because "mommy and daddy said that I can do anything."

These are the same individuals who wonder why I'm successful, but when I tell them my secret to success(work hard and perform for the job you want not the one you have, oh yeah and work hard) they go running for the hills because they might break a nail. I kid you not, some of these "adults" don't know how to change their own oil or how to use powertools; it's sad really. Not that I'm perfect but I try to distance myself from Generation DB as much as possible. I've tried to show them, but most don't seem to understand the concept of self gratification after completing a project; they see spending a extra $5 not to get your hands dirty.

What's the cause of all this? No idea. I tend to blame it on the lack of Cold War Paranoia. It's also the parents. Once again, not perfect, but when I was sent to my room as a kid, which was the alternative to the now extinct practice of corpral punishment, there was nothing in my room but walls and a bed--it sucked. Now, these kids get sent to their rooms and it's a vaction because they've got TVs, Video Games, etc. in there. How's that a punishment?

What's the solution to all this? No idea. I'm smart; I don't have kids. ...yet.
