My 25 year old is a project engineer for a Fortune 500 company making more than I ever have. On the side he has a budding real estate management company. In two years he's turned $28,000 I loaned him into over $200,000 in equity and about $18,000/year in positive cash flow. Next week the Virginia State Board of Education is honoring him in Richmond for his volunteer work with the local middle school. He spent last Thanksgiving donating bone marrow.
My next oldest works with autistic children. In college he made it to the third round of the NCAA D1 wrestling championships. He was a math major but isn't sure what he wants to do in life so he's considering the Navy at this time.
My baby girl studies at Cornell. She's also a heptathlete and hurdler on the track team. This summer she is working at an orphanage outside of Capetown, South Africa. The Navy has a standing offer to pay for her to go to medical school.
There are plenty of great kids out there and there were plenty of idiots when we were young.
