A clean litttle beauty, not sure if it was a '72 or '73.

I remember seeing these in the showrooms and being so impressed, at 20 or 21 they were so cool. But , looking back I'd rather have a Trident for riding. I concede the historical design by Vetters and the value of having one in a collection.
That is one of the best example I've seen of a Hurricane, usually the fiberglass is flawed and cracking.
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

I'm pretty sure the first year for the Hurricanes was '73, Jerry, and have these X-75s ever gone through the roof price-wise lately. They're askin' well over $20,000 for a nicely turned out model nowadays.
I remember seeing Vetter's original BSA prototype for this bike on the cover of "Cycle" magazine a couple years before the demise of that brand and before Triumph would rebadge that BSA A75-based machine as the X-75. I had just purchased a new '71 BSA RocketIII, and started thinking to myself that maybe I should have waited until BSA came out with this bike. I thought Vetter had nailed it!
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

You could be right, the info I read was the design was started in '69 but took until 72 to bring it to the public, it was only built for two years (72/73). It could have been a late 72 release. either way this bike was beautiful and looked almost factory new. Big Bucks!

Those pipes would make it REALLY hard to put saddlebags on that puppy.

Beautiful. I wanted one badly I remember one came to the local dealership here.I rang at 9.00am the next morning and it'd been sold.Someone must have camped out at the shop.Or it was pre-sold before arriving.
I remember seeing pics of a couple of Bonnevilles with vetter type kits on them. They looked excellent

There were 4 or 5 of these on display at the Riding Into History Concours a few years back. Craig Vetter was on hand to discuss the bike and his other work.
His presentation and Q & A was good, but I guess I'm one of the few that just doesn't "see it" with this bike.
