But the one thing about new cars that REALLY, and I mean REALLY!!! PI$$ES ME OFF, is the fuel pumps in the gas tanks! I really want to meet the brainiac engineer who thought that great idea up!
I'll 2nd that along with carbs. I used to keep a fuel pump under the seat of my wrecker. The one on the truck quit once and I had a car on the hook and stuck at a stop sign in the middle of the road. Took me about 10 minutes to be on the road again.I remember rebuilding the mechanical fuel pump in my 51 Chevy with a rebuild kit from Napa.

I agree, it shouldn't cost me 60 grand to get a work truck... I have the window sticker from my truck even though I bought it used, it's a regular cab, nothing out of the ordinary except 4 wheel drive and being a 1 ton,and it was 31 thousand. It's ridiculous to pay that kind of money for a tool.
Agreed, and have to pay extra if you don't want options. I remember buying trucks, like my wrecker, that came with rubber floor mats, std shift, and manual windows, if you wanted anything special you had to pay for them. Now you have no choice and if you don't want the extras it'll cost ya. No reason we shouldn't be able to buy a plain work truck for about $16,000 or a little less.
