How many of you have had a problem with the Keurig coffee machines? Here's my story.
My boys got me a Keurig Platinum B70 coffee machine for Christmas 1.5 years ago and the unit has performed flawlessly. 2 weeks ago the unit started to act up dispensing inconsistant amounts of water and just not working at times. We did the usual descaling stuff but to no avail. The Keurig site stated that the warranty was up and they would send a new unit for $104 including shipping and duty so long as I send them the Kcup portion. Well I hate being beat by a machine and pulled the thing apart. I found that 1 of the 2 solenoids was leaking water on the air pump motor which seized it up. Ordered a new water solenoid and electric air pump from ebay, totalling 30 bucks and the unit is back to life.
It seems that the majority of problems with these single serve coffee machines has to do with water leaking from the solenoids onto the electrics.... Planned failures????? I placed a shield over the electric air pump motor just in case.
Oh, and the units are not made to be pulled apart. The top cover has to come off before the back can be removed. Removing the cover almost requires an explosive charge. Broke two of the 4 tabs pulling it off.
