Sorry for the repeat of this. Working on the bike as we speak. I am trying to remove the air injection. It isa 2008 triumph america. Carb. This is my first real mechanical thing so I'm struggling a bit. Where is the small vacuum hose that I need to remove from carb and plug. What side of the bike? Second question, how do you shut off the fuel. I have the tank attached as I don't know where the fuel shut off is. So I don't want to unplug the fuel line from tank.

Facing the the bike as ridden, on the left rear underside of the tank, you should find the fuel shut off. You need to hook up with a local, fellow forum member. Sorry, I'm a bit far away or I would drop by.

So I got majority of the stuff removed. The only thing I couldn't find/which hose to cap. Said there are 4 vacuum hoses that run to the carbs. Not sure which one to cap off.
I also started the bike up and its now running at a very high idle. What should I do now?
Help on these two things please.

Turn down the idle. No tools required, just turn adjustment found at the bottom of the left carb.

the caps (condoms) go on the two intake (brass) fittings on the manifold closest to the engine, the other two (condoms) go on the (brass) fittings on the carbs facing the engine, two bolts go into the cylinder heads, one each. Don't run the bike without those fitting covered up you will be running lien (which could be accounting for your higher rpm) plug those things up and fire her up set the idle with the idle stop control nob on the left hand side of the bike a little ways down from where the choke knob is. Set it around 1000 -1100 rpm. hope that helped.

I see the two intakes I have to cap on the manifold (they both run to selenoids on left side of bike?). But I still can't see the two on the carbs facing the engine.
Thanks so far for everything!!

Also I bought the kit from new bonneville. And it only came with one vacuum cap? Do I need to cap off all four areas?

Essentially you remove the ai and cap the nipples that it was attached to.

I forget how many "squirrel condoms" came with my kit. But I put them on the nipples closest to the engine. Then, when one of them failed, I used some of the vacuum hose, leftover form the AI system, and cross-connected the two. It was actually a suggestion by Z and I've never had a problem with it. I do keep a spare vacuum cap and one of these days, I'll pick up another spare at an auto parts store.
There is a plastic cap (plug) piece that you have to install on the air box. Is that the one cap you are talking about?
The trickiest part I had was getting the injector lines off the cylinders. They use a funky clamp that I never saw before. I ended up unknowingly nicking my finger and bleeding all ofer the top of the engine.
Be sure to check the tightness of those cylinder head bolts after a ride or two. I needed to tighten them a wee bit more initially as I was cautious with how much torque I use on the aluminium head.
Good luck !!

So I'm back at it today haha I hsve the plug into the air box and have removed and bolted the injector lines. The two nipples closest to the engine, I used one of the hoses and cross connected like you said. Where those two small vacuum hoses connected to on the left side of the tank, will I have to cap that spot off?
I am now having trouble starting it, the choke just makes it sputter and die. And without a choke it won't stay on.

Seems to run better when leaving the hose attached to the right engine manifold nipple and on the left side I removed the hose and capped it.
Now on to some iso grips

Pardner, I don't know a thing about the AI on the America since I haven't looked into it yet but in general, this is how it will work:
A hose from the carburetors attaches to the vacuum switch which open/close reed valves. The reed valves can be located on the engine cases or cylinder head. Anyway, sounds like you have the reed valve part solved. Now, the hoses that come off the vacuum switch which often looks like a metallic canister will go to the airbox at a minimum. You should plug the opening on the airbox probably. If unburned crud doesn't hit the reed valves to be burned, it is supposed to go into your airbox. The main issue you seem to be having is that when you removed the hose from the vacuum switch to the carburetors you left the nipple unplugged/uncapped. The hose is there to provide engine vacuum to the vacuum switch so if the nipple is unplugged when the hose is removed, the idle will race. You will be able to make the bike run IF you run with full choke (basically an enricherer and not a choke) but if you twist the throttle, the bike will die as this screws up the enrichener circuit. If the bike starts, it will idle at about 4K rpm likely. DON'T try and turn down the idle. Find the nipple and put a cap on it. Some folks use rubber vacuum plugs but this is a mistake as they deteriorate in no time and crack and you will be back to the same problem as not capped at all. Use vinyl caps which don't break down from engine heat. If I recall, there are vacuum spigots on the top/engine side and also on the carb holders (not sure why) and there is probably another for the TPS which will be a thin vacuum line going to the igniter to provide throttle position info. You don't want to mess with the TPS vacuum line.

I have taken a few days off from touching the bike - I have taken some photos of what I have done so far, so I will upload them once I figure that out. Thanks again everyone!

Here are two photos of the left and right side of my bike. I see the two nipples I need to cap off closest to the engine. But I do not see the other two closest to the carb part.

Vroom, it appears that yours is a fuel injected bike and does not have the nipples that were on the carbs of the older models.

well thats embarrassing I didn't know haha! ah well.
Shouldnt be too hard to fix then, I keep those small hoses as they are - no caping and I attach back the solenoid.

Doesn't look like the fuel injection to me just mikuni carbs rather than older cvk ones but I could be wrong.
