canyonwolf, Try this site; http://home.wyan.org/~jrhdlh/Spacers.htmSome members have already put them on and from what I hear they like 'em. I've been thinking about trying it myself.

Hey canyonwlf7,
I have Jim's Spacers and they help tremendously. When I got them, they were about $26 shipped (included the longer grade 8 bolts).

But, alas there's no spacer for the speedmaster. We speed'ers a little short of reach could use just a little rear placement about an inch I think.

We have in the works for early '05 our own custom made risers/bar clamps for the Ameirica and Speedmaster. They're made for these bikes so fit and function are a given. We're leaning towards doing them in polished stainless as opposed to chrome billet, but that detail is still up for debate. I want black for my bike so we'll likely do up a few for the "dark crew" as well.

Brent,
Polished stainless would be my choice since they would match the current risers better and not stand out because of the difference.

I to have the risers, and wouldn't trade them for anything (except maybe a Rocket III).

Hi Stranger, err I mean Ryan! ( I couldn't resist!) You must be getting real busy what with Daytona gearing up and all. Take it easy on reading Phil's post as we all know how our 'bosses' feel about spending money on our rides! I 've got Jim's spacers too but have yet to find the time install them.
And Chy, if you read this, know that I had to glue that headlight wiring harness gasket in place. Why did i think of that? Well because i know I'll have to re-route my throttle cables when I install Jim's Spacers.
PS: Those grade 8 replacements longer bolts. Do those rust? They don't look like stainless to me. Heck the tops of the handle bar clamps could use a surface rework, like re-chroming and all. But I'll wait to see wait the 'Lord' of Parts has to offer soon. I Look forward to seeing you at chy's rally Brent!

That little aggravating rubber conduit didn't stay huh.. that sucks but it sounds like you've got it on the run. I love my spacers too, now not only does it feel much more comfy, I have a place to put my gloves when I stop. My riser caps are looking pretty ratty too it looks like the clearcoat is coming off. I've got the same thing on the side of my triple tree where the cables used to ride before the spacer install.

Hi chy, Quote:

No it did not but it does now. I used some acrylic glue and applied it with a toothpick let it set for 15 minutes then blew up to Daytona and beyond one weekend several weeks ago. I sure did not want to turn the handle bars, thus putting strain on it, but it stayed in place. I also got some 000 steel wool and polished up some of the rusty areas on my stainless steel bolts and such. With Vera's windscreen I too place my gloves between the handlebar risers and the speedo. They stay in place too. I lost my blue Triumph baseball cap to the road gods of US17 last weekend. I gots this rule that I don't turn around to get stuff out of the road that I drop. Unless it has a pic of a dead president on it! That will teach me to wear my helmet. Oh well...The only problem with getting the riser caps chromed is Vera won't be ridable for a week or two. So maybe a sliver powder coating would be in order for those parts. My brother can knock it out quick.....

I recently replaced my speedmaster risers with Chopper's Inc 44 Mag risers in the 6 inch version. All cables and wires fit great with no problems. They are very comfortable. I paid $200 cash from a pal who wasn't happy with them and bought the 8 inchers. I had pics in the old forum and will post as soon as i have the time to load my photos again.

Hey Mark,
When you install Jim's Spacers, break the nut(s) loose first. Tie the handle bar to the ceiling. Remove the tank so you don't have to worry about scratching it. I'm installing the spacers now. Had to pull the carbs to correct the shoddy work my ex-dealer, "Cycle Rider's" performed on Vera. Seems that if Cycle Rider's doesn't have intake manifold o-rings in stock they use high temp silicon. What a PITA and what a bunch of low-lifes. Oh well. I get to polish up the intake manifolds. Also pulled that teeny weeny fuel filter and blew it clean. When I tired of removing glue and silicone from the left manifold, (I finished with the right intake manifold), I thought that I would do the spacer install. It was Phil that told me how he tied up the bar to his ceiling. I tied Vera's handlebar up then thought that I would have been better off breaking the nut(s) loose first. Got the right one off, then the left one stripped. I'll finish with my cold chisel tomorrow morning, thank you very much. I have Vera all apart so thought it would be a good time to do the spacer install as I might have to relocate the throttle cables. I'll be posting some pics of the spacer install, the intake manifold o-ring replacement, the teeny weeny filter, and other things that I can. Maybe write it up and send it of to Pat (Dinqua) for posting on his tech site. When the wife's away, I get to play. Yeah with wrenches! Vera said that it was about time! I've only had the spacers for oh, 7 months or so....And I have had the o-rings since November of 2003! Gotta work on Vera. Must work on Vera....
PS: I had Pat's carb rejetting instructions for reference. The set I printing out last Sept, '03 when I installed the Scepters. That triangular plug is a beach. Thanks Pat for that pioneering documentary. The air box trick is way cool. Removing the chain guard really helps with that right rear airbox bolt too. Which, by the way, is a 6mm not an 8mm per your directions! Oh yeah, the torq value for the intake manifold is not listed in the torq values section. Instead it is conveyed to us via a schematic. Thanks Triumph!

We should have the risers off the machines in just a couple weeks. From there, they need to be polished. These things are going to be REAL nice. I'm stoked!! We're going to have a few done in black as well (sorry - I know that's a dirty word).

Sounds like a great idea Brent. Will they be straight like the SM's, or will they have more pull back?

All 4 of the different risers that we're doing will accept the stock cables and lines.

Will they be as high as Jims spacers + the stock risers? Do we need to make more slack for the throttle cables?

I think about 5 inches with one inch being pullback would work on the speedmaster for the shorter armed folks out there
