I am in need of (4) m8 1.25 70mm stainless steel socket headed partially threaded bolts. I have managed to find some one line but either the shipping is stunning or they do not have quite what I need. And yes I checked ace and home depot and a the local tractor supply store.

The bolts that hold the ghost brackets onto the side a just a bit too short with the addition of the luggage rack/passenger backrest I am hoping to have them in time for the rally seeing as to how my gf would really like to ride on the bike and I do not feel safe for her doing so with the bolts being a bit shorter then I would like.

Any recomedations?

I'll have a look-see at the local bolt specialist tomorrow for you. Man, I really miss True Value :-(

My local True Value isn't True Value anymore, did something happen to them? The hardware store is still there and the same but not True Value now.

Try Probolt.
I also would recommend Ace or True Value but you said you tried. In a worst case they should be able to order what you need. May take longer than making them by hand with a chisel but its one way.

Did you try contacting the Ghost Bracket folks?

I didn't think about it but what exactly do you need? I think I have spare bolts from and extra set of EZ Brackets. I bought a 2nd set so I had the option of large or small bags so never used the bolts.

By the way Ghost Brackets are not as strong as the EZ, I looked at both and liked the way the Ghost went on better but liked the over all sturdiness of the EZ. The weak point in the Ghost when I looked at them was the way they adjust. When I was looking they were not made specificly to fit our bikes and you would have to buy a universal set that had a slide section to change the mount spacing.

The bolts that came with the ghost brackets are fine, if I was not using the luggage rack, is not much of a difference but enough to make me a lil worried. If my measurements are correct I am 2 mm is from the edge, I would prefer to have a least 2mm clearance on the other side. With the difference in the knobs/attachment points for the ghost brackets I think I would need two at 70mm and 2 and 65mm. if it is a lil too long well then I am handy with a dremel. "shurg"

So you need longer bolts? I have the sissy bar mounts on my fender rails and used the supplied bolts with the EZ.Are you using the stock rack? I'll have to look Saturday and see how long they are since I have no idea what the difference in the mounting buttons is.

Sorry, Nemo, but my bolt store is out of business...another cool old hardware joint killed by the big box at the other end of town. Looks like I'll be mail ordering my cool bolts from now on

True Value stores in my neck o' the woods are now Nuts & Bolts Hardware stores....same company...different name...probably the result of company restructuring?
