You'll get plenty of answers with heat or chemicals involved. I slowly peeled it off and it came off clean. If a bit of residue is left, windex and a clean cotton cloth (not a paper towel) should take care of it.

Goo Gone or WD40 will do the trick.

Wear gloves before you fire up the torch. Have plenty of Kerosine standing by.

A nice orbital sander will do it quickly.
However if you don't want to destroy the tank, use WD40 or Go B Gone.

Without damaging the paint? Where's the fun in that????

I did mine the same way as jj, but it helps if the tank is warm, like sitting in the sun for awhile.

Zippo lighter fluid...no flame...just the fluid...unless your ready for your first custom paint job...personally I like flames...but prefer they be painted on...to hard to keep the real ones looking good at high speed.

Peel them off then take off the goo with eucalyptus oil. Makes ya bike smell pretty too.

Yeah, if you're fond of koala burps...

That stuff is rather expensive around these parts. Hard to find too....

Hmmm...eucalyptus oil, eh? Sounds like topping for the Aussie version of Jaffa cakes.

I peeled off every sticker I could find, you know those little triangle and exclamation mark ones (now I don't know what to check every day). Also the reflectors on rear fender and forks. WD-40 works fine.

Since liability apparently dicates the use, it's beyond me why they don't simply use some non-adhesive decal.

Tom,

If you've already got them off, then this post is superfluous but I wouldn't put any chemicals on your paint. A hair dryer will do the trick...be patient, it only takes a few minutes but it's hassle free. A little more patience, a little elbow grease and a good soap followed by a good wax should get off any remaining residue.

I just peeled them off as soon as I got the bike home so they didn't bake in the sun and then removed the residue with alcohol.
