Has anyone bought or made a resistor type module to change the current value going to the vehicle computer from the intake air temperature sensor? The advertised idea is that the computer will be fooled into leaning the fuel/air ratio slightly to increase efficiency/power. One site is performancechipsnow.com Just wondering...

Why wouldn't you just remap the a/f with a leaner mixture using TuneECU or Tuneboy. You would have total flexibility in adjusting the a/f instead of a lineal + or - over the whole map which is all that such a resistor would do.

Most run a little too lean for their own good to start with. This could cause more long term problems than it's worth.

I have seen this mod on Yamaha XT660 bikes. as I understand it The air temperature has a resistance variable with temperature, on a colder day the air is more dense so the fuel map is changed to make it richer. The idea is that by making the EFI think it is colder than it is, it will make the mixture richer. It improves the running of the Yamahas when a louder pipe is fitted. I dont have EFI but if I did I would measure the resistance of the sensor in ambient and then stick it in the freezer to see what the value was then, put a resistor of this value in place of the sensor.

I use this in my truck. On my last truck I bought one and was convinced it worked. It claimed more HP,better response and better gas milage.Iwas convinced it worked altho always woundered how I am getting more HP and using less gas.I bought another one for the truck I in now,Iwould hate to see how gutless it is it could be without. My milage sucks, but I am running larger wheels and a lift.

This is available for the Tiger. I put one on mine, helped low speed jerkiness a little.
