Just enough to provide a smear will last a reservoir full for a couple of thousand K's.
Keeps my chain and sprockets clean, maintenance free and with them last being changed 35K ago, a worthwhile investment I believe.
Btw, the time I took these pics I use to have too much oil drip onto my chain. Now just a smear as I said
