Ah, Casey Stoner and his duck part ways...
In the Deal's Gap pics you can see the rear lock up because of the lack of contact, then the 1-2 low side-highside tank slapper occurs. He probably used a normal amount of brake and was really surprised when the back end broke free.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

Oh I'm bet he was surprised, then perplexed, then dismayed, probably a little outraged, then he pissed himself, then he bled a little.

Whoops! My mistake there, John. You're absolutely right. That WAS a high-side that Ed showed up there. I guess I was just so fixated on the first two pix in the sequence up there and kind of ignored the latter two, that I just assumed the guy would just decide to do the lesser of the two bad choices left to him and just let it low-side on him. (...but then again, we ARE talkin' about the same guy who decided to put a freakin' car tire on his bike in the FIRST place, and so WHY would I think the guy would decide to take the smarter and potentially less destructive of the two unfortunate choices THERE, huh???!!!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Those low-side-looking photos were actually the wind up for the high-side pitch.

...my feelings in this regard are I wouldn't do this "modification" on a friggin' bet, 'cause there IS a reason why they make car tires AND motorcycle tires, and THAT pictorial you've just supplied us here would be one Reason No.1 why I wouldn't "place a bet" on MY life while tryin' to save a few bucks in the short term!
Thanks Ed for adding the pics to bring the point home ...and Dwight, you hit it right on the head there Bro, couldn't have put better myself ......Anyway ya look at it's one-two-three strikes & out. I kinda like having the tread meet the road all round rather than just on the edges ...especially in wet road conditions.
