I'm going to second ole Dwight here. I can also personally attest to the benefit of wearing a good DOT approved 3/4 helmet with a faceshield. I went down last fall and the majority of the road damage (to me) was to my helmet and faceshield (thank God). I know it sounds like hindsight to say it... but if I didn't have it on the outcome could have been tragically worse.
