It's always a disappointment to find out rock bands are capitalists and marketers. They always have been. Or do you just not like Caddies? I don't, I prefer old Lincolns.

Ya gotta remember, we ALL "sell out" eventually. In fact, I'd say The Who, what with their licensing of the use of some of their biggest hits for the opening of all the "CSI" franchise TV programs, might be the masters of this particular phenomenon. (..."Meet the new Boss, same as the old Boss", dude...this is all just the natural process of maturing and reaping the benefits of our youthful endeavors, of which I personally have no problem appreciating...but then again ya gotta remember I "sold out" YEARS ago!)  
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I had missed Percival's post, thanks for revisiting it. I had never heard a gal sing that before. It was great.

(You say you want a revolution well you know ..........Nike shoe make you jump higher, run faster, and even dunk a basketball........) Its great to be an idealist, but music and movies are business, and all those mega rich stars don't do thier thing on the cheap so that the poor schumcks out there can enjoy it equally with those who can afford the exhorbitant price of admission. No sir Bob they expect their millions for what ever it is that they do. Does that make them hypocrites?

Crazyhorse, It's just that successful "revolutionaries" have expensive tastes, unsuccessful "revolutionaries" end up dead or being college professors. Besides, I thought that the Beatles sold all their music rights to Micheal Jackson years ago. Actually, "Revolution" Nike ad made sense and was clever. Our rock and roll generation forgets that in I our grandparents' and parents' day advertising was how some historic bands paid their bills. Whole hours of live music on the radio sponsored by a soap brand or some other product.

Nahhh, it's gonna be Beatles musak, all the way to the top. (Where are we going fella's? To the toppermost of the poppermost!!!JL) And besides, I wanna be sure that Michael's kids continue to get the royalties off the Beatles catalogue, so's they don't have to suffer with an ordinary life like the rest of us blokes.

I understand, and have no problem with it in practice. However when they spout crap like some of them do, then live contrary wise to the platitudes they spew. Well, thats a problem for me. One of the many reasons I will not watch a movie with Sean Penn to give an example.
