Because of my job I have been provided with both Windows and Apple computers since 1995. I have enjoyed the competition. The PowerMacs were fun but so desperately limited because of their proprietary nature. Windows 3.X was great but inherently unstable.
Win95 was a big improvement but Apple was still a tiny fraction ahead in stability but, again, their proprietary approach crippled them.
Ever since then Apple has been stumbling to keep up. They will bring out widgits (iPods) to make them relevant but when they went to Intel to make their processors it became obvious that it was just a matter of which tweaks you preferred. The CPUs are the same.
Nintey five percent of the world has made that decision. I'm not buying a Delorean to prove them wrong.
