The very philosophy of the Mac OS I always found infuriating. If something goes wrong (and things go wrong) you can't get 'under the hood'.

For example, mine hardly ever could connect to a wireless network. On a PC, I'd go through the settings and find what was wrong and then connect.

On my Mac, you hit the 'connect' icon. When that didn't work, you check to make sure your wireless is turned on...and then you hit the 'connect' icon...and then you hit the 'connect' icon...then...well...you get the picture.

Of the dozens and dozens of computers that have passed through my home and work networks only my own personal Mac (and a friend's Mac) could not connect without a hitch. But since Apple has not seen me fit to delve into their precious settings I can't find out why.

Apple...it just works...except when it doesn't.
