The point I made comparing PC/Mac and Ural/Triumph was aimed at those who act as if they are somehow more "computer literate" because they use Windows. Hey guys. you're using WINDOWS! That is Microsoft's copy of the Mac OS! I use both, they're not that different from each other. They were not meant to be, that's why Bill Gates copied the Mac OS in the first place. The idea that Windows users are somehow more advanced than Mac users is simply a baseless conceit similar to those Harley riders who look down their noses at everyone else. If you're serious about being a computer geek you'd be using DOS instead of Windows.
When I said that using windows requires greater computer literacy, I meant that in order to maintain Windows stability, you have to be a bit more savvy, a bit more computer literate than a Mac user because Macs are a bit more stable because they're proprietary. However, with a bit more literacy, Windows computers can be rock solid stable.
Furthermore, PC/Windows based computers allow greater flexibility and configuration to allow you to do the types of things that it wasn't quite designed to do. You have to be a computer maven to jailbreak a mac to gain the same type of flexibility.
So, for my money, with a bit of computer literacy, one can enjoy rock solid Windows PC based platform that allows the flexibility of configuration for a fraction of the price of a Mac.
