I recently had tuneup and after the tuneup and front tire change the rpm and mph changed. Used to 4th 60 mph at 4000 rpm, now 60 mph at 4500 rpm, third gear used to be 50 mph at 4000 mph now needs 4500 to get 50mph. any suggestions should i take 06 america back to dealer to have them check engine out?

What did they do for your tune-up?

(and welcome!)

You didn't get a different front sprocket installed did you? Your close to describing the differences in RPM/MPH between a 16 tooth and a 18 tooth front chain sprocket. A different front tire circumference affects the Speedo readout as well.

The front tire will effect the speedo if the size is different. Since that would change so would the RPM you see at any given speed.

sounds to me like you got 500 bonus rpms with your tune-up. lucky! most guys have to pay extra for that

I wouldn't think a tyre radius change would do more than a 1-2% speedo change. This is 10%+ difference and worse performance not better. Definitely take it back to the dealer. But a sprocket chnage could account for it.

did they set the idle adjustment back, after maybe doing a carb sysc?
is the idle at 1100 or 1200 rmp now?

just the first thing that came to mind.

Granted, probably a larger change than a tire change would account for if the fender hadn't had to be modified.
