Have been chasing a random exhaust pop when backing off, and/or hard down shifting. Kept doing quarter turns on left side carb air adjustment that was doing the seldom popping. The cause turned out to be a gap between end of header pipe and muffler input pipe. Both are stock with exception to two drilled and one baffle removed. Seems factory did not allow enough length on header pipe to seal up 'slots' on muffler input. Sealed them up and walha, no poppie, no moe'.
