i think it was honda that set the clean cut look standard in advertising for motorcycling in the 60's so it kinda forced everyone else to follow suit. i enjoy those old ads where people are wearing penny loafers and argile sweaters hahahahaha hd was the bad boy's bike and so they couldnt hardly use ads like that (and i dont recall one, let alone any ads for them at all??) but companies like Triumph had to set that clean guy standard for sales being that companies like honda were trying to capture that image.
