The "age of innocence" is a good phrase. I like the old ads, even if they included tobacco. I am tired of the viagra, cialis and whatever "springtime fresh" feminine deodorant products they're hawking at the time.
And yeah, I'm that old.

Good video!

i think it was honda that set the clean cut look standard in advertising for motorcycling in the 60's so it kinda forced everyone else to follow suit. i enjoy those old ads where people are wearing penny loafers and argile sweaters hahahahaha hd was the bad boy's bike and so they couldnt hardly use ads like that (and i dont recall one, let alone any ads for them at all??) but companies like Triumph had to set that clean guy standard for sales being that companies like honda were trying to capture that image. thanks for sharing that, like i said, i always get a kick out of nostalgia and did we happen to notice a new America sitting behind him?? and what happen to "go your own way?? now i am writing my own bio?? whatsupwitdat??

I remember "You meet the nicest people on a Honda". Other than in some motorhead mags like Hot Rod, Bikers Mags, and posters in the bike shops I don't remember Triumph or Harley Ads. I am sure they existed as posted. In those days the big advertising was the bikes on the road.

Nice little video.
Things appeared so much simpler back then, including the bikes.

"I better turn on the lights so I can ride my Triumph tonight!"

(...oh wait...those suckers come on automatically now when I turn the key on, don't they?!...never mind)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I object to the fact that only mods or admin can embed vids in their posts. Hmmmmph!
