I'll see this movie, but I think a lot of the it's problem is cultural. The original story was published 50 years after the US Civil War and prior to WWI, when print was the main media. People could imagine life on Mars and how the main character might have lived on Earth at the time of the story. Today kids know there is no life on Mars, we've had a rover there for a decade, and most can't or won't make the imaginary jump. Sad.
