That said, comments and reviews on blogs by "civilians" that actually paid to see it loved it. I think Disney has only themselves to blame for this disaster. They didn't promote it at all.



I'd recommend it. I recommend it over the book as well. The book was written so long ago, the quality is not that good, but it did inspire just about everything in science fiction, fantasy, and adventure fiction that was written afterwards. Star Wars and Dume both relied on many of the aspects of John Carter of Mars.
