Saw John Carter in IMAX 3D last weekend and the weekend before and really enjoyed it.
I think they did a wonderful job, considering the book was published in 1917 (A Princess of Mars) and isn't up to today's standard in literary quality. They did a good job re-working the ability to travel between worlds. I hope it does better at the box office. (crosses fingers) I'd like to see a second movie.
So if you like Sci-Fi or great effects, or grew up reading Edgar Rice Burroughs as I did, go see the movie.
