Went over to NTBF and noticed the reply about the massive machining was from RaceDweeb..aka Mike at Bella Corse. Depending on how cheap you can get it done at a qualified shop, I would imagine it'd be very expensive work. Probably won't stop Pat though.

edit: Stopped by the Ace Cafe Delphi forum where Bill Gatley from bonnevilleperformance.com posts. He's racing a Triumph on the AMA Grand National circuit. A few days back I posted a question about these new stroker kits. Here's his reply:

"I just learned today from Dave Fussner at Wiseco that the 989 stroker kit is available soon if not immediately in 10.5:1 compression--again you would have to stroke and balance your crank--hopefully get the Carrillo rods --but what a nice piece for the street."

He also mentioned a custom street tracker he's building for a customer:

"We are building that bike now for a customer in Southern CA--it is a hybrid of our race frame with heavier wall tubing, a 24 degree rake, R6 front suspension revalved with new catridges, fully adjustable triple trees, Penske monoshock rear 55 inch wheel base--with a 904 cc 90+ rear wheel HP engine of our design. This will be a 10.5:1 compression 10k rpm engine with a balanced crank--balancers removed, shim under bucket BP hi-performance head. We are also stopping it with twin 4-piston Beringer calipers with 11.5 floating rotors in the front and a 10.5 floating rotor and a 2 piston Beringer floating caliper in the rear. If you want the next one let me know--we have 2 frames not spoken for at present."

Sounds like a sweet machine....and expensive!
