Just removed airbox and installed pods using BellaCorse's DIY kit.

BC sent me 45 pilots and 145 mains. I still get pretty significant popping on decel, and a slow roll on from idle. I notice that dinqua's calculator recommends 45/149 jets.

Before I go ordering bigger main jets, I'm curious if the literati think this will help my popping and sluggish response off of idle.

I've read tons about these carbs, but not all of it sticks.

In re-reading some old carb tuning posts I'm reminded that the mains primarily are in charge of the WOT area of operation, so prolly have nothing to do with my popping, and definitely nothing to do with my sluggish roll on from closed throttle.

So much to remember! And confusals! Especially with all the different intake/exhaust configurations..

Maybe you should start by turning the pilot screws all the way in until it stops don't tighten thought just till ya feel it touch. then turn them out 2 full turns. Use a marker to keep track. I put the tool on and draw a little line on the tool and the housing to make sure I get precise turns.
See how it runs then.

It is understandable that you are excited by your project, however if your gonna pimp this stuff as a threadjack then perhaps a better way to go is to ask FJ for permission to do it in the vendor section.

If the OP can determine what his pilot screw settings are then maybe someone can actually help him.

Take out the shim, determine where your mix screw setting is set and start from a baseline you can be certain about. Your pilot jets are big enough that an adjustment to the mix screw will solve the popping. I believe the shim is the culprit in the slow roll on.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

Ya well, so was Chas Bono...not that there's anything wrong with that...

Seriously, I didn't notice that in the signature. My bad.
