They even recruit aussies to teach the indian call staff to speak with an australian accent.

When I was with them, we used get calls from T-Mobile or "T-Mowbul" as they like to say using the OTT fake US accents.

Basically, yes. Get some books on British history, whose industrial age predates ours, feel free to go back as far in medieval history as you like, or read any 3 or 4 chapters of High School texts dealing with post Civil War history in America. And I taught U.S. history at both High School and College levels. The existence of the middle class in the numbers we know take for granted is largely a by product of the Industrial Revolution, our enlightened forefathers who in turn believed in revolutionary philosophers from Europe and the suffering and sacrifices of early Union movements.

We have no real disagreement. But, the middle class existed centuries prior to any thought of unions, they did help to expand it, as did the GI Bill and women entering the work force. Two world wars in Europe didn't hurt America's industrial advantage and the expansion of unions. America no longer has that advantage, hasn't for some time, hence the decreased numbers in union membership. We can blame the global economy, but we have always had a global economy it's just moving faster.
