ME WANT ME WANT ME WANT

The 2012 Métisse Street Scrambler.
1000cc air-cooled 8-valve head 97hp 70ft-lb torque
Power up kit for 120hp. They've had the engine to 140hp, 80ft-lb torque.
All it needs is a skid plate.
They don't say the weight, but it looks closer to 400 than 500lb.
They also have a Café Racer model.
Now THIS is what Triumph should have done when they needed a bigger twin.
The T-bird is a great bike, but it would have been greatererer by being lighter.
And if they made it lighter it could have been put into a Scrambler.
I also think this type of bike is a better basis for an Adventure Tourer.
I don't like the Transformer-type styling of what's out there.
But the Métisse?
Me Like
Me Broke
Me Sad

Oh yeah, it's a very cool bike alright, Brian!

However, and while coincidentally I was just this last hour reading in the latest edition of Motorcyclist Magazine about this updated Metisse with its newly designed proprietary engine, I too at first thought that owning this bike would be very very cool, but then I started thinking how hard it is to start-up and make successful a venture such as this just as my mind went to all the apparent troubles in this regard that the reborn Norton company seems to be having after all these years.

And, thinking that even IF the above pictured motorcycle would ever even make to the marketplace, I wondered how long they'd even be in existence in order to get parts for this bike after a while.

And so, ultimately I think I would rather have the Metisse they're making now with the older Meriden Triumph unit-construction engine in it. I mean, parts for THAT are still readily available as you know, and so I think if I had the money for either of 'em here, I would go with that one now instead.

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

All true Dwight, but I did my "Me Want" rant on the "McQueen Metisse" a year or so ago...
