Hey all, hope everyone is well and making it thought the winter. I have a kinda strange question, and figured someone here may be able to help...

Does anyone know the stock cable lengths for the BA? (Throttle, clutch, and front brake)

I'm asking because I have replaced the stock risers w/ risers from a SM, and even after re-routing the throttle cables are a bit tight. I would like to get a set perhaps an inch or two longer than the stock cables. The exiting cables do work and all, but have seen their share of weather (thanks to the prior owner) and are set to be replaced anyways.

I've seen plenty of pictures here to make me think I'm not the only one to make that swap, so please let me know if anyone has done the same and knows of any helpful tricks.

Thanks in advance

Mark, I recently (I think like this past Septenber) had to replace my clutch cable. My BA came with 12 inch apes and the previous owner had custom throttle cables & front brake line fabbed at a local shop. I had to order the replacement clutch cable (+6 inches over stock) from Barnett Performance Products & it took about 2 weeks to get (mostly cause the shop I went through spaced off actually placing the order with Barnett). I bet Barnett can fab the clutch & throttle cables for you without any issue. You might check you local shop as some will "custom" fab cables on the spot but they may be a bit pricey. Hope this helps. you also might check with Eddy (fasteddysports.com), and he might be able to get you what you need (also, he's a BA forum member). Good luck & keep the rubber side down.

Mark: I just added the rivco risers and the kuryakin iso grips to my 02 America. The only way I could get the throttle cables to work was to run them down the right side, rather than across the front of the frame and down the left, like the stock config. The only issue is whether the steering lock lug will impede anything. A couple of short rides seems to indicate that it won't. The brake hose doesn't have as much play as I would like, but because it travels in the same plane as the front wheel, I am not as concerned about that. The clutch cable was not affected at all.

If I hadn't just bought new stock cables, I would be getting some from Barnett.

I went with the taller risers (Speedmaster) and had zero issues , went with the shortest route, no problems at all.

Go here:

http://www.barnettclutches.com/products/...mp;misc=Triumph

Then you order the cable with the number for your bike and say +6" and you get a cable that is 6" longer than stock

Hey Mark... I got a set of custom length Barnett cables through Brent at newspeedmaster.com. All I did was tell him I wanted stock length + 2" and that was it. When they arrived I compared them to my old stock cables and sure enough... they were 2" longer.

I got my cables from www.bellacorse.com . Mike is a good dude, ordered mine 10" over stock if I remember correctly. I have 12" mini apes on my bike. Any of the vendors mentioned should be able to hook you up.

yup thats all you have to do, figure out how much longer you want them and just order it like that +2 or +10 etc. I put rivco risers on mine and ran the cables up along the right side as noted here earlier, they are tight though, iu had to play with the throttle location on the bars in order to make sure i did not get auto crusie control happening LOL but so far so good, i think a new set will be in order though, don't like them that tight.
