Thought some of you might be interested. Wingsuit Video. Not for the faint of heart.

Added this in the sailplane post but I think that one has about run it's course. Note the thin white smoke trail at the beginning, in the top right of center. Amazing.

I wish I was up to doing that. It looks like so much fun but I'm afraid it's above my pay grade.

Why wear a helmet, when you are doing this? To attach the cameras. Cool flight.

The landings must be very hairy.

Not the first time I've watched this kind of stuff but still amazing as I consider what they are actually doing... those guys are moving! Then there's that guy from France (I think) that straps a jet pack to his body for some high flying of his own. I think it's cool how we (people) come up with all these ideas, then make them happen.

But there's a good angle at about 2:00 looking at him from above and to the side and you can't see a chute. Doesn't mean it's not there but it must be up his bum.

It's in there. Somewhere. I've seen other videos where they pop the chute. Far less graceful at that point than what you see here in this video.

Yeah, they land with 'chutes... I've seen that in other vids, although I wouldn't be surprised if one day they figure out a way to land without one.

Naaah, THAT'S not it, GUYS!

The guy has trained a big dumb moose from Minnesota to catch him when he gets to the bottom!!!

(...why do I always have to explain everything around here, HUH?!)

I think the coolest shot is when he enters that crevass about 2/3s into the video. No such thing as "pulling up" if you are too low......

Yeah, I think you're right, Greg. And, while I'm no licensed pilot by any means, from what I can tell here, it appears his Stall Speed is faster than his Terminal Velocity!

(...with emphasis on the word "Terminal"!!!)

I did see him reduce his rate of descent a few times. If he keeps his speed up he would have some ability to climb, or at least level off. His stall speed must be slow enough for him to land without crashing, unless he gets caught in a giant net.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Pretty sure these flyguys pop a chute at the end of the ride. All the previous vids I've seen, a chute was deployed when the hill ran out.

Confirmed in other vids, they use a chute to land. Of course they don't actually need a chute to land, only if they want to live!

if you look closely in a couple shots he has a parachute integrated into the suit (go to Apex, check out their base jumping suits). It's a very streamlined setup so hard to tell it's there. And this guy has stones, BIG stones, when you consider how close he comes to some of those cliff faces and trees and how fast he's moving, either that or he is VERY confident of his ability to steer that thing precisely. VERY COOL indeed!

I post THIS link not because of the awesome cinematography, the music, the skydiving, or the thrilling wingsuit flights, but look at the ROADS in some of the VALLEYS they're diving/flying into! WOWIE! I'd love to ride those switchbacks!
