OK my fellow NW riders... its that time again for us to gather for a small meet n greet. The forum has been light this year with new NW-erners but maybe this thread will get some lurkers out n about.
History of the NW MnG (taken from last years thread): This will be the 5th annual NW Meet n Greet. This started a few years ago at a Starbucks in Issaquah where a few unruly Triumph riders gathered. It started as a peaceful event until one rider arrived with a Tiki themed helmet (we knew he was trouble). Following shortly was a surly hulking Scottish gent that quickly put us at ease with his Shrek imitations (he hasn't stopped yet). This was also the last time anyone ever saw that many blue/cream Triumphs in one location, ever! The bottom line it was great to meet some fellow and somewhat local Triumph riders, kick off the riding season and make some friends! Since that fabled day some five years ago the crowd has grown and changed but one thing rings true... its always fun!
The details: *** this is all based on weather, if its raining the event is off but I will update this thread as we get closer to the event. *** Our little Gordie makes it down every year so Im thinking this year we make his ride a bit shorter and maybe give him some company... Im thinking we can meet up the in the Bellingham area about 10am. Im sure we can find a Starbucks somewhere. From there we take a nice scenic ride down Chuckanut Dr to Conway Pub and Eatery in Conway Wa arriving about 1pm. Anyone that didn't want to ride to Bham can just meet us at the Pub. Well hang out, have some food, beverages, chat it up, have our group picture then head out.
Im going to shoot for March 24th.
Who's in?

If I'm in town and the weather is decent, I'm in. Although Bellingham at 10 AM ?? That would be a real early start for l'il ol'me. And slab, no less, to get up there. Ah well, since Gordie has always been so good about coming to see us Yanks. On his yak hide covered ride no less !!! Maybe Fish can finally hand the Triumph Journal off to me there as well. Those of you, in the Pac NW, who have never joined the crowd should try to make it. There's even "wimmen-folk" participating !! Pray for sun !!!

I'm thinkin' I'll be there....prolly w/Michelle close behind,(now that I have more HP/Torque on my carbed BA than she does on her EFI SM...) or maybe I'll just follow her to watch her.....ride. Say Z, I believe there is a Triumph Dealer...Champion Cycle, in B'ham. Maybe we could get in touch with Howie, the owner, and see if he wants to put on a pot or two of coffee, and meet there....just a thought.

Heck, at this rate, you can come down borrow my bike and ride it up there. The new job is great, but working every other weekend is sure getting in the way.

Perhaps, we should postpone this get-togethr a few weeks until Z's new and improved ride is back together and Gordie's back is on the mend (much to the relief of the yak hide !)? And hopefully the weather will start to dry out around here.

Been thinking about doing that. My stuff hasn't arrived and the weather is questionable at best.

The weekend of the 24th is looking like sunshine (partly cloudy) and low 50s for the high. A great day to ride if you ask me.
So the change will be this... we won't be riding up to meet Gordie since he can't ride right now. Well meet at the Conwy pub at the stated time (1pm) and have our usual event.
If my bike isn't ready karen and I will be driving up. All I need is one day to gt it together as soon as my stuff arrives.
Oh... we have done it in Feb, Mar and April.
Now... if the weather report changes and we see rain then well kill it and move it to April.

Z, Refresh my memory, what's the name and address of the Conwy pub ? Is this the one by the airfield (same place as last year) ? Will there be a ride to the British pub in Redmond ?

It's looking like the weather will be great..can't believe it for March especially after this spring so far (a day of snow and a day or rain so far). Since it looks like the meet time is 1pm that'll give me chance to avoid I-5. I think we'll run up 9 all the way from woodenville after skirting the lake. Happy to have company if anyone wants to go the long way.

Starbucks sounds a good idea, but I'm sort of threading the needle on this one.
My better half riding pillion won't be ready to leave until about 11 (from NW Seattle), so I think I'll only have enough time to go the long way up without stops. I'm figuring an hour 45 will get us up to Conway. Which means I'd be onto hwy 9 in Woodenville right about 11:30

Patty and I'll probably see you there; we were already planning to ride up that way. Unfortunately I haven't got the speedmaster lowered for her to ride it yet, (I have to confess I spent the money on cams for the Harley) so we'll be packing double on the Road King. I rode the Triumph all week to work, so maybe you folks will forgive me for riding the HD on the weekend.. See ya tomorrow!
ride when I can, work when I have to

I've been going back and forth on this all week. I've finally decided I won't be there. With the great forecast, I want to be riding around Mt. Rainier, not going up/down I-5/405. Sorry guys. Have a great time !

Similar to the "Bro Code" there's a "Fiance Code"... Thou shall not ride Trumpet to Meet and Greet when Fiance's Trumpet in out of commission. Any body buying this?? I'm just a wuss.
