My baffle fell out the back end of my bike and I'm in the market for new pipes. Stainless is more pricy about 200. Bucks more. Chrome may pit. Stainless can me polished out. I was thinking chrome Bubs vs. BC stainless. What do u guys think?

Bubs chrome pipes or BC stainless pipes
single choice

I will always vote for stainless, and there are more than the BC pipes available. I drag my Scepters all the time and they just get scratched, where if they were chrome plated, the bottom of the pipes would be very rusty by now without something protecting the steel.

All that said, can't you just get a new baffle? What kind of pipes do you have?

sorry, i would go for the bubs and stay off of them in the corners, and by the way unless your bikes was lowered big time and you turned in like you were on a sport bike you would be hard pressed to scarpe the pipes, i know it happens but never to me and i ride medium hard.

my bike is stock height, maybe it's because they are long, maybe it's because I ride hard... mine drag frequently

length is a good point the bubs don't even go 1/2 way past the back tire, in fact ends about where the sprocket starts so that could be the differance, not sure.

yeah, the Scepters go just a bit past the sprocket, plus they are kind of fat

Stainless for sure.
My chrome pipes are pretty well pitted and will be needing replacing soon I think.

Stainless Ride XL slash cuts

Received a pair of Stainless Ride XL slashcuts for my '04 Speedmaster. It took a little over 4 weeks for delivery and it was worth the wait.

These pipes have an excellent tone at cruising speeds with a little more bark under hard acceleration.

My experience in the past with fiberglass packed pipes is that they mellow out with a little age and I expect these to do the same and loose some of the harsh bark under hard acceleration.

The polished stainless steel is brilliant, the heavy gage stainless should stand up very well over time and the fit and finish is very good.

I would recommend these to anyone looking for a quality set of exhaust with an excellent sound quality.

Best of all I got them for 20% off.

Good Luck and ride safe!

Bluto

Also stainless wool packing is better than glass wool which deteriorates and blows out - requiring repacking every 2-3 years. Stainless wool never deteriorates.

stainless has a tendencey to aquire a slite yellowish hue but i kinda like it, shows it has been ridden and its not a garage queen (like some hd friends i know) nothing serious mind you but just an ever so slight hint

so if a person were sset up for the bubs say and then went to the stainless like the ones shown, is there a re-tune or re-jet involved? I think mine currently are bubs, pods, 45 pilots and 150 or so mains.

I have the BC Bombers (stainless) and couldn't be happier with the performance, sound and look. I've only had them for a few months so can't speak to how they'll age.

"Pipes are currently out of stock (8-26-10) No definite date for availabilty yet".... 8/26/10? Yet the page isn't cached. Looks like you would need to do some inquiring. Nice looking pipes, IMO.

Yeah but they have parts in stock indefinitely? Might be worth a call, maybe they can get you something worked up from pieces on the shelf, they are top quality, I can tell you that for sure

I may be a little late here, but my vote is for the Bubs. They sound great and still look very good, even the left one that got scratched up from my accident a few years ago.

Blue/White 2007 TBA, Thruxton needles, Unifilter, AI removed, Polaris Bellmouth, Bubs, Nology Coils/wires, Lightbar, Ricor Intiminators, Hagon Nitros, Tall Sissy Bar w/luggage rack, Dart flyscreen & Lowers. 130 Mains, TrueGel Battery MG12-BS.
