Personally, I believe the new Sportsters had a great impact on the retail sales increase (proportionally), as I think their SWEET!

(and I SEEM to see a LOT more of them on the road)

I am planning on picking up a 2010 Sportster 48 this Spring myself
Keeping Speedy, I just think middleweight bikes are more fun!

Triumph Scrambler Diablo Red & Silver (2014), Arrow Exhaust, FI remapped with TTP #4, 16 tooth sprocket, Triumph Gel Solo seat & Rack, Progressive 440 1" lowered Shocks, SAI & O2 Removal, Airbox Restrictor Plate removed.

230,000 bikes is a lot of iron to sell in a year of recovery.

I wonder if the #1 seller continues to be the Sportster.

They've gotten themselves down to a respectable number since the heyday's of the late nineties when they ramped production up too much. And, the new FXDC looks like a nice piece built to be a motorcycle and not a rolling sofa. Now, darn them, I want one....

Lot of Sporties on the road here.

You can buy them new a lot cheaper than Triumphs.

Frank, I have the best of both worlds, I have a 96 inch Fatbob and a speedy. Fatbob is great, but it's fun to get on a lighter bike as well. I'm going to get an XR 1200 to round out the stable, decided against the 48, it's too much like my Fatbob.........

I gotta admit I'd still like an XR1200.

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Mark, I sold my Speedy to buy my Super Glide Custom.

I couldn't justify the expense of running 2 bikes a 4x4 and a car.

Hey Frank, I understand, but you can pick up a used Speedy these days for like 4k, and I find the maintenance costs on the Speedy very low! Good luck either way, enjoy the Super Glide!

Hey Mark, if you can pick up a used Speedy here for under $7000 you have got to be lucky.
