I believe almost everyone agree the grid needs to be "hardened" and improved. The advantages are enormous, from defense, eliminating rolling brown outs thur efficiency of transmission, and even communities not losing power from severe weather. The problem is there's no money, although "the stimulus" would have been a great opportunity to do it, but the wrong kind of people would have gotten the employment.
