Yep, 'cept I don't think Duke Kahanamoku ever surfed down the White River and past the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument there.

(...nope, I'm pretty sure the furthest east he ever got was somewhere on the wide Missouri, just past Omaha!)



I'd never walked downtown Indy until a couple years ago. It's actually pretty cool. They've put sidewalks along the old canals and they are below street level so it's like you're walking through a park, you can't hear the traffic although it's just above you, until you walk up a flight of stairs and find yourself in the middle of downtown. Pretty neat and quite different.
