Seems to me that the whole "Global Warming" hype is a plot by goobermental types to bilk more $$$ from "pollutor industries" and the average everyman in world in the form of mandatory CO2 excise taxes, and carbon offset credits.

Well, I won't debate the whole global warming hoogobble, as I have very strong opinions about it which might get me in trouble here, but I am all for reducing emissions of all kinds. I see nothing negative about it, especially on those days when I can look out over Boulder or down to Denver and see that lovely brown haze all up the Front Range. Or when I see pics of beautiful downtown Shanghai, where the the windhsield wipers on the bus have cold chisels to mounted to the windshield wipers to cut through the air that looks like LA used to look in the late 60's and early 70's. Further, this kind of stuff is creating new jobs, whether you believe in it or not, other countries are acting on it and creating jobs because of it. Meanwhile, we bicker back and forth about it so that in the end, when we do have to buy equipment to comply with this or that regulation, it will be imported from aforementioned Shanghai instead of Pittsburgh. I have absolutely no problem using coal, but invest in new scrubber technology to make the emissions as clean as humanly possible. China is doing this, because they've finally seen that it's going to result in unbearable health costs and at the same time they realize that they can't grow their economy without a very diverse energy portfolio. That includes coal, nuke, solar, and wind among others. And I know the whole "regulations kill jobs" but even the Wall St. Journal has changed stance on this after a study showed otherwise. Yes, it kills some jobs, but in almost every case regulations create jobs in other sectors, in building equipment to comply with new regs, retrofitting buildings, etc.... Just a thought, whether or not you agree or don't agree, there is money to be made in preparing for it, money in manufacturing jobs and technology which this country needs desperately, and frankly, with an ever exploding population on this planet, we are going to have to work harder and harder to keep our air and water clean and usable. Just my 2 cents...
