Yep, I can remember seeing a mid-80's T-bird cruising down Hwy 81 in Anderson South Carolina with one of those trailer hitch mounted racks (for carrying coolers and stuff on the hitch) LOADED with books. They were stacked 3 feet high, and piled all the way up the back trunk to the rear window, and the back seat was piled roof high inside as well. Needless to say the rear suspension was COMPETELY bottomed out, and the hitch rack was maybe a couple inches off of the pavement! I still don't know how all of those books were staying put, since there weren't a bunch of ropes. Perhaps all of the book covers were glued together!




So THAT'S why there are no books in South Carolina.


Probably someone from North Carolina stealing them. That load probably doubled the number in North Carolina!
