Dwight, it took longer for the umpire to explain the new OT rule than it did for Denver to execute the rule. Nice pic by the way.

That's weird, there was no mention of the Steeler/Bronco game in the article. Having grown up in Oil City 70 miles north of there, several years ago, I have to say Pittsburgh has redefined itself since the steel mills polluted the city.

Yeah Paul, I have to admit I did hijack David's thread here right from the ol' get-go with the whole NFL Playoff thing, didn't I?! Sorry David. Yep, nice picture, and your link to the "CBS Pittsburgh" site was an interesting read about The Steel City.

Actually Dwight, I was trying to rub it in a little towards our friend in PA., since I thought Pittsburgh would kick Denver's butt and I am a Bronco fan.

I can't stand Tebow, he is a lousy QB with extremely good luck and a good defense

Sorry Dave, I disagree. Ya see what I like about the guy is he's not afraid to run with the ball, which is rare for QBs in the NFL as you know. And because of this, there's that added threat to the other team's Defense, though of course this aspect of his game will almost assuredly result in an eventual injury. I mean, those NFL defensive linemen are HUGE!!!
Now sure, his passes are rarely of the perfect spiral kind, but he seems to know when to throw the ball away when there's no other option, and instead of trying to "fit one in there".
And, for a reasonably unseasoned QB, he also seems to be able to read defenses pretty well.
(...yep, I have to admit I kinda like this kid, and from what I hear, so do his teammates)

He threw maybe 3 good passes last night. Nobody will say it, but Champ Bailey won that game last night with some incredible defensive plays. He got lucky, I doubt they will be able to hold New England to 23 points next week. Pitt should have tried a 65 yard field goal as time expired, the worst thing that could have happened was a runback on a missed FG... like the overtime result was any better?

Yep, all pretty much true there, Dave. And yes, that last defensive stand by the Broncos definitely was impressive, as it seemed the Steelers were on their way to a winning score at the end of regulation time.
However, bottom line...Tebow saw that Steeler's Safety cheat up to the line, leaving his receiver in basically a one-on-one situation with the CB, then got the ball to his receiver on that crossing pattern(and right in-step, I might add) on that first play in OT, and...winning the game.
And so, once again, the kid my not "be pretty" out there, but he seems to "get 'er done", alright!
(...but yeah, I look for NE to beat Denver next week)

They ran the ball on 1st down for the first play of every possession last night, until OT. The Steeler D showed their hand and got caught. I will give more credit to the offensive coordinator than Tebow on that, although that was one of his 3 good passes for the night right there.
When it counted most.

Gentlemen, living in Knoxville and a avid SEC fan I can tell you I, along with many other fans was never more excited to see the Florida Gator Timmy Tebow graduate and move on.Trust me I could not stand the guy. Here's a guy that everyone knows what he is going to do but most of the time he cant be stopped. In last nights game they had to respect the run which left single coverage, Tebow was good enough with his passes to hit some big plays. I tell you what the kid is, he's a winner. PS: tonight's BCS game will be the first time an SEC team playing in the BCS Championship game will lose. Of course both teams are SEC so somebodies gotta lose

I'll just add this, if there were a guard/tackle as bad at blocking, a receiver as bad at catching, a defender as bad at tackling, a kicker as bad at kicking as the quarterback Tebow is at passing, would they be in the NFL?
I predict that, if he's on the team next year, he'll set the Broncos back five years. No free agent receiver would ever sign with them. No QB would risk that fan base to sign with them. No player would want to be involved with a team that the fans, your skill level, is not what determines whether or not you'll play.
BTW, I lived in Denver and I'm a big fan.

Also, Cam Newton has way less 'seasoning' but he has NFL quarterbacking skills (he's also a much better runner). What he has is NFL caliber passing skills. What he doesn't have is one of the best defenses in the NFL. With a horrible defense he went into the 4th quarter with leads against the Packers, the Saints, the Falcons, the Lions and they crushed the Texans. Tebow has been in the league three years. He should actually be good by now. There are 32 NFL teams. Tebow is the 33rd ranked starting quarterback. The Bengals (Dalton), the Texans (Yates), and the Panthers (Newton, Pro Bowl) have rookies at QB.

Say what you will about Tebow (and I'm not a big Tebow fan or anything), but if he's SO terrible then why are the Broncs in the playoffs? IS Rothlisberger SO bad that even with a bum shoulder he couldn't take down a no-talent like Tebow? Despite how "horrible" Tebow is, the Broncs are doing something that they didn't do last year, which is win, and at least be in the game, even when they've lost it's been close except for the Pats and the Lions. And that did not start this season until Orton was benched. Is it all Tebow, of course not, but it is certainly not happening DESPITE him either. Do I expect them to get spanked Sat against the Pats, of course. But then, I think everyone expected the Steelers to send the Broncs home this past weekend too. Smokey, I might also point out that while he has had 3 years in the league, he hardly saw any time on the field for the last 2, since the Broncs were insistent on playing Orton almost exclusively, so this is truly his first "real" season. I've been hearing his passing game needs work, seems like the 3 passes I saw the other day were a step in the right direction....
