Now that was a rally! (49 bikes including you?).... and a fine day to be out and about as I recall. Though it may have been a bit foggy up the mountain a ways.. 2008?

Hasso, although it is only a days ride on the slabs to Dahlonega for ya, have you considered taking two days (a day and a half)? Whenever I'm in Woodbridge, I'll ride out west to Luray then ease South to Afton. The BRP ALWAYS calls! That area of the Eastern Seaboard is a freaking art shop in heaven. (Skyline is too slow and too expensive to ride when I'm looking at 950 miles) Little Switzerland has a motorsickle lodge behind the tennis courts. From G'Ville to Little Switzerland riding the BRP from Afton is 450 miles, a full days ride. Then day two brings you down into Brevard (on a killer road - US276). 215 miles to Dahlonega from Little Switzerland. Just say'in

Hey, Moe! (that never gets old...) Sounds perfect. I was definitely looking to avoid the slabs - but hadn't mapped a route. Time is no object. I was originally thinking 11/211 - but your route sounds pretty sweet. I agree on skyline - not when you're trying to get somewhere....
Thanks!
You going?

I definitely would like to go. I'd love to get a group from up this way - but may go regardless. It'd be nice to meet some of y'all in person.

Well that's no fun then.

As much as I would love to go I will not be able to make it. My son Will is graduating from Ole Miss the weekend of the 12th. I know I won't be able to take off two long weekends in a row.

I'm afraid that's going to be hard to do for me this year. I run the Bike Show at the Houston BMOA Rally every year, the weekend after Mother 's Day. I'm sitting here planning vacation days for the year, and that is a big disappointment..

I am assuming that was directed at me? ROFL If so it was shims, not o-rings. I have since totally changed the whole set up, so I do not have that to worry about now.

Me and Kimmy will be doing the Greater Atlanta British Motorcycle Assoc (GABMA) Annual 3 state ride that weekend. I'll be riding the T120 and Kimmy on her America, from Hiram (Atlanta) up to the Blowing Rock Inn in Blowing Rock NC. Will be my 3rd year, but first year riding rather than trailering, and believe me, that A LONG ride on at T120! We'll leave Hiram, then pick up GA 120 in Cartersville up to Waleska via Hwy 108 to Jasper, then 53 to Dawsonville, 9 to Dahlonega, 180 to Suches, back to 9 to Murphy to Asheville, then the BRP from Asheville to Blowing Rock...Saturday morning, me and Kimmy and about 80 other vintage British bikes, will do a 214 mile loop through 3 states, and arrive back in BR by dark....will leave BR Sunday back to the ATL. Too bad the dates are the same.....maybe next year they will be different....

It looks like I can make it this year. May work schedule currently supports it, but I won't know for sure until April. So, for now, pencil me in as well.

Been around here about four years now. Guess it's time to get out and meet some others. Time off from work, no problem. Wife's permission, no problem. As long as I can keep a large amount of available credit on one of the cards, I'll be there. (just ain't got the confidence in this one like I do in the other bikes)
And you may see me tonight
