Maybe we should all (sans Dwight) go down to the old house, looking rather Motley, and with some chains and baseball bats, and ask where Dwight went...
Of course Dwight, if you haven't met the new owners, you could join in the fun, or watch from a discrete distance.

Oh btw...we've moved the last of our(and George Carlin so elegantly put it in one of his routines) "stuff" just last night over to the Sedona house. Man, are we bushed!!!  (...and now to unpack...oh how I'm lookin' forward to that...NOT!!!)

Packing and unpacking??? Whats that? My exs' always left before me ...not much to pack/unpack..but I always got new stuff(Salvation Army Thrift Store,etc!!)but no rewards cards!!!
life is good..I am retired..sold my America in 2008,bought a Rocket and sold that in 3/2013 and now own a new Triumph Bonneville T-100

Whiskey...too early right now! The SWTF T-shirts where the best of any rally I have attended, ba or otherwise! Artwork, colours, layout, all simple brilliant. And then there are the pins...  AmyLee you are a awesome!  The pins lacked dates so they could be relevant through the years. Now Dwight and Judie have moved. Who'd have thought? I'll buy a couple more of those "Prescott" pins if y'all decide to rework them to "Sedona". Maybe prior year attendees would be willing to do the same in order to help move that historical inventory? (We'll always have Prescott) What a freaking cool trip.

Okie doak! For those interested in their own accommodations here in Sedona, I think I've found the perfect couple of places. Now, as Friar John mentioned earlier in this thread, motels are just a little more expensive here than they were in Prescott, however the most reasonable I could find in Sedona aren't really all that bad price-wise...though of course that kinda thing is always a subjective opinion. The first one is the Sky Ranch Lodge, located within a mile of "Rally Central", right up Airport Road from our house: http://www.bing.com/travel/hotel/details...FORM=ATRHNS#topThe view of Sedona from up there is amazing...even better than from my house, though our view isn't chopped liver!  The rate for a room with two queen beds is about $130 @ night, and so if two of you wouldn't mind sharing a room for a couple of days, that would only come to $65 per person @ night. The second place is no more than a quarter mile from our house. It's a quaint little place, though the views are really there. It's the Baby Quail Inn: http://www.bing.com/travel/hotel/details...FORM=ATRHNS#topThe price for that one is about $110 @ night for a room with 2 double beds. Once again, that would be about $55 per person per night. Personally, I'd recommend the Sky Ranch Lodge, which I understand books up early and frequently, and so if any of you decide on that one, I'd say ya better book it ASAP. Cheers, Dwight

I have a double room at the Sky Ranch Lodge booked for Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. My buddy will be camping in Dwight's yard so the second bed is open. The rates are $95, $105 and $105, respectively. Let me know if you want to be mah roomie. I don't snore but I do have CPAP. It's a quiet model. EDIT: BTW, we're planning on going through Grand Junction and riding to Sedona with wrwallpi and hopefully FCTush. http://g.co/maps/r3y7z

Well Bill, while this house is quite a bit smaller than the Prescott house(there's no upper-deck "horn section" area to be found here now  ...3000sq ft vs 1800sq ft now), I'm sure you can find a place to throw that sleepin' bag down somewhere here.

John - Just looked at your route on the map. Check w/ Colorado DOT to make sure there's no construction on 139 between Rangely and the Fruita/Loma/Mack "metroplex". Also, that's a great time of year for thunderbumpers, or even snow over the pass. I mean, if they're willing to dynamite frozen cattle, I'd hate to think what they'd do to itinerant Montanans..., and I'd hate to have to eat all that BBQ by myself.
Also, what do you and Devon want for beverages on Wed. evening?

I don't think we're too picky except I don't drink beer or wine and I'm not really sure what Devon drinks. He'll be a freshly minted college graduate (and an ex-marine) by then so I'm sure he's used to drinking just about anything.

I have not, and Dwight and I haven't discussed. Whatta people want to do/see? There is a nice loop out of Sedona that is about 180 miles - heads a little south, then thru Camp Verde and up Hwy 260, then back route into Flagstaff and down Oak Creak Canyon to Sedona. Just nice scenery and riding roads. Several places to stop for lunch - Clints Well, Morman Lake or Flagstaff.
It can be done in the opposite direction, but going UP 260 is more fun. I think we rode down it last year....
The Grand Canyon will not be as far away as it was last time...
There is a loop out on the Rez - through Hopi and back but it would be more than 300 miles.
We could head further east, towards Payson and beyond, but it would be retracing our route back as no loop option.

That stretch of 89 between Prescott and Congress was quite the ride. Brent and I hit that on the way out of town thinking there will be a Dennys or something on the way out so we could get a bit and wake up. Ummm... yeah, noting like a road THAT TWISTY to wake you the F up in the morning!

Aaah, White Spar! I missed that road so much that was only a half mile from the house in Prescott, that for the first time this past Sunday and since we moved to Sedona three weeks ago, I hopped on the BA and rode over to there to partake of that most fun road that I've found in northern AZ.  And now onto the subject of this year's SWTF ride itinerary... I'm thinkin' this year's main Saturday ride will be about a 3-4 hour jaunt, starting in Sedona and taking AZ Hwy89A south to Cottonwood and onto Jerome and having lunch there. After lunch, we'll backtrack back to Cottonwood on AZ 89A north to south Page Springs Rd, and then onto Cornville Rd going east, and then Beaverhead Flats Rd going northeast, and then onto AZ 179(aka Red Rock Scenic Byway) north back to Sedona...a total of maybe 100-110 miles. Not too short and not too long, I would say. So, what do you folks think? Does that sound okay?

Actually, it looks as if it's only about 74 miles in total according to that. Still, including the stop for lunch in Jerome, it should take at least 3 1/2 hours in total to do this.

Ya know, those longer routes are kind of intriguing too, John. Though I think I'd like to somehow include AZ179 into one of 'em somehow, as it really gives one a magnificent view of the Sedona red rocks as they're ridin' along.

Going up 179 was the one I chose, looks like the exit after the Good Friar's proposed route. Would that still take us up Oak Creek Canyon?
Also - two XLs please. Any shirts in the raffle this year? Would be funny for me to give Big Bill the smaller one, as opposed to the larger one from several years ago.
