I was close to LaCrosse back in 2010. Although this was day nine, it was really day 10. I actually stayed in Savannah IL instead of starved rock. I think I was already well into the second of my back pocket days.
The second half of your trip is following some of the routes we used to ride for the midwest rally. From Lansing, IA all the way to Savanna, IL. We've taken a couple different ways, but those were usually the northern most and southern most points of the rally rides. Of course this year we'll be a little further north.
I know you like to keep it just on this forum ..but I think you could open this up to the rocket riders over on that forum.. lot of good people over there and I know and there are some locals right there in Lacrosse that ride a rocket but this is just a suggestion...
Not a bad idea Ed, like you said, first priority is the people here, once we get closer we'll invite other groups. I want to make sure the arrangements wwork out for everybody here first. But yeah,I'm open to that.
Good find Ed. Here is another link to the Logan Mill Lodge aka rally central.
I emailed Ruth (property owner) and she responded as follows;
608-634-2230 Central Express is 3 blocks north of our lodge. Please let them know I referred you to them! They have a nice family restaurant by the motel.
B&B two blocks away 608-634-4112
608-634-2111 Old Towne Inn 1 mile on south edge of Westby
That is all we have in city limits of westby...I can give you numbers for some places in rural westby that each have 1 small cabin if city of westby is full. Also...we MIGHT have more remodeling done by then and have 2 more bedrooms.
hey Scott..here is a link to that Central Express.. web page they have a face book page so people can see what the rooms look like..and the price looks very nice for that place from what I saw it's $44 bucks Sunday to Thursday ..I will call and get the Friday & Saturday rate and that B&B looks good also
I called Central Express.. today well for get about that place you can get a room for Thursday & Friday night ..but from I was told all the room are booked for Saturday night.. but some else can call and check it out ..she said a local booked them..all 20
We should have.plenty of room in the lodge, but yes, central express hotel is booked saturday. For those wishing to stay somewhere other than the lodge, there is old town inn down the road a little.
All this nice (for chicago) weather we've been having has really got me jonesing, i'm stoked about the rally this year!
Well, it would appear that my employment change thing didn't work out (applied & interviewed for a Supply Chain Analyst position at ...Hmmmph (clearing throat) Harley Davidson. Soooooo, Scott, looks like I'll be able to join all at lodge & I am looking forward to the ride up to WI.

Hi Scott, can you put me down as a definite starter, riding Eddy's (Fast Eddy Hofstrand) speedmaster whilst he rides his T-Bird, starting from his place and back again.
Btw, because he's been tied up with some unexpected issues I don't think he's had time to organise our accommodation. Would it be possible to let us know of some good options available?
That would be awesome if you could make it Dave, not so much to meet, ride and have a few beers with ya, but more so just to drool over that bike of yours
You've made my day Scott. I wasn't sure whether Eddy and I may have been a bit late in securing a spot where we could mingle with the others on the rally in those times in between the riding and organized get to gathers. It's my experience some of the best times happens when we're just sitting around together having a coffee and simply mingling.
Anyway, I know you understand what I'm trying to explain Scott cos you realized the importance of organizing the lodge for blokes like myself. I'm stoked and I'm sure Eddy will be when i tell him.

Absolutely Stacka, in previous years we've had a great gathering area at the hotel. Since we're moving a little bit north this time, I wanted to find a placethat would would still afford us the opportunity to mingle comfortably.
Quote: Cool. Sorry the job thing didn't work out, but it'll be a good time I promise!
Scott, I'm really looking forward to the run/rally. Sounds like it'll be a real hoot. The job thing was a shot in the dark, & I'm still gainfully employed. I figure if it was in the cards it woulda happened. At least there is one less person unemployed in America.
