I'll do just that.

My sister said he has a group he rides with occasionally, it wouldn't surprise me if he tells me he was already planing on going.

The Passport applications went out last Thursday evening (from the Clerk of the Courts office) here near Orlando. The Passport office is in Miami, so it should get there quickly.

I've got the week before & after off from work already

So, I guess it's time to start lookin' for airline info.

I hear ya.

My plans just took a turn for the worse.
My trip to Nelson just got canceled.
It just got too costly. With round trip tickets for two (whatever happened to the deals/discounts?), a H/D rental for four days, hotels, AND the Rat Raid tickets, well...
It was too much for me. I really just wanted to see the BA members from the NW, not pay 2k for a two day bike show. I would just try to make the next NW Triumph Rally, but the cost wouldn't be much cheaper.
I'm hoping I can ride out to the next SW Rally (GOTTA meet THAT DUDE! ) , and hope ya'll from the NW can make it down there.
Peace!

I believe some the NW BA members are going to this event in Baker City, AmyLee and I are also giving this event serious consideration at this time.

It's not a bike show, although never having been to a bike show, what do I know I've been going to Nelson for ?, well bunch of years and still trying to figure the dang thing out. I think the evening New Grande parking lot symposia on parlimentry procedures and proper usage of the ubiquitous "U" got me hooked.

What I'm hopin' for Keith is whenever I can make it from Central Florida to Nevada, you (and the other NW'ers) will be able to make it from, well...WHEREEVER, to Nevada.

Ok, I may have had to read that like FIVE times, but I think I know what ya mean.

(I'd just like to meet in a parking lot that costs less than $150 for two)

No problemo', I had to type it FIVE times before I knew what I thought I was trying to say. The New Grande parking lot does that to a person.

Just in case you missed it, I announced in Jeff's "Friar's patch" thread that I have patches and stickers to be available at the Raid in Nelson. Jeff sent me 30 of each, some are spoken for already. Let me know if you want in on this. Cost is still being worked out but will be reasonable. See you all soon.

Got ya covered, Mike.

Weather ramlings... The weather this year and up until a few days ago has been CRAZY rainy, cold and wet. It just snowed up in the high country last week. Rivers and stream are bursting at their seams. Washouts prevail as rains pounded down relentlessly this year. Gardens are a disaster. Commercial crops, drowned. Basements are flooded and insurance claims are up. But it SURE IS GREEN!

I just checked the long range forecast for the Raid. Looks promising... not perfect but there's still time. I think the trend of cold and wet is over. Last year's weather was not that great. For example, Marty and Nanci rode home as two drowned Raid Rats. Keep yer fingers crossed for this year... the weather is far from normal around these here Kootenay parts!

As an Old marine would say..Be prepared!!I had to sit out a day in Sprague,Wa. on my return from Montana due to record rainfall in Eastern Washington on June 26th.Beautiful and 80 on the 25th and 27th..Quality Raingear did not help...Visibility and Hopping Rain off the Pavement made travel unsafe. One would think that this would not happen in late June/July...so I will be prepared!

Btw... just heard from Brent who will be staying over at the Sky Deck Hotel Wednesday night with his friend, Bonneville John. Anyway, safe to say Wednesday is party time on the Sky Deck for anyone arriving early. Also, Rocket Bob said something about showing up here Thursday. For all ba.com members attending the Raid, consider the Sky Deck and attached hotel a place where friends can meet, greet and be merry before and/or after the rally. Looking forward to seeing you all!

The recent good weather seems to be in a holding pattern. It should hold out for the Raid unless they decide to chemtrail our skies again. No I'm not a conspiracy theory nut, no I don't think they are normal, and yes someone is aerosol spraying the skies with something. When they do this it rains every time. Here's hoping for GREAT riding weather.

The Skydeck will be open Thursday for ppl drifting in for the Raid (but not all day... I have a rally to attend!). I have arranged with the local leather-stitch person to sew on FJ patches within a 2 hour turn around time. It's doable for anyone wanting to attend the Raid with patches and stickers in place. Ahhhh, FJ is and will be sorely missed.

So come one, come all to the greatest sky view in ba.com history. Enjoy the view, mingle with good friends and otherwise hope the hell Keith actually has viddles kicking around to appease the weary traveler.

Ride safe knuckleheads!

Karen and I, my friend Rick and his gal Toni and possibly another rider will be heading through on Wed.
Maybe well take a ride down to Trail on Thu am for patches and stickers... or wait for Keith to deliver them. Who knows.

Marty, I'll be in Nelson on Friday.

If anyone needs a room I'm giving up mine at the New Grand. I'll be sharing a room with Freedom this year.
