Normally I love hearing about barn finds, but this story is heartbreaking.

Man, that story is depressing. Especially considering it was just an hour away.
Wish I knew about it sooner.

Great story - thanks for posting. At least they salvaged some of the best stuff. It would have been great to have had a few weeks to go through everything in detail. No doubt some real treasures were dumped.

Cheers, Richard

I was there when they were cleaning out the bikes! I wish I had known, I would have brought my truck and 20' flat bed trailer! I was at the lock and could probably see the building and never knew.

The truth is that there are probably tons of defunct MC shops around the country with the same circumstances. I once took a head from a 72 Bonnie to a small machine shop in the older, "ghetto", part of Kansas City, Kansas. As I looked around the shop I noticed a back door, in the yard were a mix of HD and brit bike carcasses just sitting out in the elements, a bone yard. This was before the internet and cell phones, I think most these guys just did not have access to the market place to sell the spares.
