Dang. Your posting brings up memories of Macon GA circa late '60s and two young men.

I got the "Lemmy" dvd at our company Christmas party and I'm just waiting for that special Hawkwind moment to put it in the player and while away a few loud hours

Duane wrote this in his Diary. I came across it this morning is all while looking for a photo of Skydog on his motorsickle.

Turns out it was put to lyrics in 2004 by NC Thurmon. And serves as Duane's epitaph.

You're welcome. Although the thanks goes to David (maxwellpgh) for his original post that got me to thinking about Duane.

Lynn and I rode to the Big House in Macon GA on the way to the Georgia Rally 2008. We didn't get a chance to see the Rose Hill cemetery, but did have the opportunity to photograph ourselves in front of the Big House. At the time the Museum was not opened yet.

And snap some photos before the renovation was complete.

Front door

Back Porch

Kitchen such as it was

interior

Then we rode then to the H&H restaurant where many artifact's chronicling the Allman Brothers Band where present inside.

Then onto the Georgia Music Hall of Fame which was sponsoring a tribute to Otis Redding at the time too!

Little Richard in his ahem pre-weird days

Dang, That was a ride to remember...

On the way to Larry's Memorial this past December 2nd, I snapped these photos of the Big O Ranch entry gate.

I don't know who this Lemmy guy is, but I'm thinkin that's a 77 or 78 T-140V he's sittin on. It's got American import bar on it, so Lemmy must be an American?

Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. H. L. Mencken

I met Lemmy once. It was a long time ago and very brief. He was playing a slot machine in a London nightclub. I said Hello and he said Hello back.

I have lots of stories like that. Did i tell you about the time I stood next to David Murry from Iron Maiden. I didnt say hello. We were peeing at the time.

Lemmy is the King of heavy metal.

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. Edgar Allan Poe

I fear that you may be left dissapointed. My Dave Murry storey dates back to 1982 at the Reading Rock Festival. My mate was the drummer for Bernie Marsden SOS Band. I got to hang out backstage and while their I went to answer the call of nature. Dave Murry had to answer the same call. Which is how we came to be standing next to each other while peeing.
