I wish we could just get the NYC people here (meaning where I live) to keep trash in their cars until they get home or to a public trash receptacle instead of tossing it out the window all over the place and use trash pick up instead of tossing bags of trash along the roads. Was clean here before they invaded so it stands to reason they are the guilty.

That's a drag, Ian. Here, we have similar circumstances. Where I live we are surrounded by wilderness... just the odd highway cutting through mile after mile of beautiful mountain terrain. Along the way at any rest stop or pullover the ground can be littered with garbage, often spewing down and over the bank at the edge of the road. Sad, really.

The saddest reality about our society.
Funny story twice I stopped people and made them pick their trash up off the road. One guy was in a parking lot near a job I were building. He was just throwing paint covered news paper out of his van while driving through the lot. I parked my truck so he couldn't get out and made him pick it up and put it in the dumpster.
The other was two teens throwing trash out on a senic road. I just happened to see them throwing trash out of their windows when I checked my mirrors. so I stopped in the middle of the road. Those guys tried to argue with me but I told them I could call the police or they could pick the trash up and take it to the gas station not 1 mile away and put it in the trash can there.

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. Edgar Allan Poe
