During the Great Ice Storm of 1998 in the east I still had steel spikes on my golf shoes. It was so much fun watching others try and figure out how I could stop and go at will while they were all floundering trying to get from A to B. That same trick was used in the Grey Cup (Canadian Super Bowl equivalent) by my brother in law in Montreal when there was a frozen field to play on. He put staples in the soles of his shoes along with everyone elses on his team, they won.
