When the roads are a sheet of ice the only people trying to drive are stupid. I remember driving across Kansas when a snow/ice storm began one winter. The tractor trailers were whizzing past me secure in the knowledge that the laws of physics don't apply to them. I took the next exit and got a motel room. The next day you could nearly walk the length of Kansas across the tractor trailers filling the medians. Unbelievable.
